Our selection of nuggets to (re) discover

You know, it’s very easy to miss out on interesting content on Netflix where one novelty is chasing another. Here is the small selection of the editorial staff with a classic of the cinema, a French film completely crossed out, a good film with Ben Affleck (everything happens) and a comedy by Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad). If you want to share your “nuggets”, do so in the comments!

The City of Fear

Difficult to present this UFO if you have never heard of it. It is about a “film of Les Nuls” with the trio of Canal + of the years 80-90: Chantal Lauby, Alain Chabat and Dominique Farrugia (and even the genius Bruno Carrette in posthumous appearance). A killer murders all the projectionists of Red is Dead, a mediocre movie. The craze around this story propels the film to Cannes, but the killer does not intend to stop at the bottom of the steps of the Palais des Festivals. Cult lines and excellent supporting roles: Bacri, Darmon, Gélin, Karyo… ” Get rid of mimes!

The dictator

The first film about Charlie Chaplin, this masterpiece produced in 1940 is of course a charge against the Nazi regime. In the fantasy land of Tomainia, a veteran Jewish barber from the previous war was injured. During his convalescence, his country has changed a lot and his people are persecuted. After an incredible misunderstanding, he is mistaken for the dictator Adenoïd Hynkel, a barely concealed caricature of Hitler …

The two friends smoke bongs, drink beer and if John has a relationship, his immaturity is becoming more and more problematic. Ted is more of a regular prostitute …

Argo

Based on a true story, Argo narrates in a fictionalized way the rescue of 6 American diplomats based in Iran during the Islamic revolution of Khomeini. So yes it is a film “of and with” Ben Affleck, but the story holds water. Of course, the Americans have the beautiful role in the films while it is the Canadians who did everything, but it shows and we hardly want to slap ass head.
