The next-gen version of Cyberpunk is heading for the end of the year, but it may not make it to -apkrig

As part of the latest financial results, CD Projekt RED touched on the topic of next-gen versions of its Cyberpunk 2077 and Sorcerer 3 games. as the company planned. The CD Project is still aiming at the end of the year, but its senior vice president Michał Nowakowski has stated that they have already learned in this sense in an obvious reference to earlier unfulfilled deadlines and promises.

Nearly a quarter of developers are working on the first expansion, which is about 160 people, and another almost 70 work on unannounced games.

The studio does not want to promise the release with certainty, also considering that the original versions of Cyberpunk are still being developed and repaired. Of course, the situation is a bit different for Sorcerer 3, because the game is much older and the Saber Interactive studio is working on the next-gen port, which has already taken care of the Switch version. But the same goes for her. However, it is encouraging to know that, at least so far, nothing has changed in the plans. But we also didn’t learn more about next-gen updates.

But the talk also turned to the development of Cyberpunk 2077. While more than a third of the studio is currently working on a new generation and supporting the original game, the rest of the people are working on the first major expansion, Gwent and other unannounced projects. More specifically, almost a quarter of the developers are working on the first expansion, which is about 160 people, and another almost 70 work on unannounced games.

The CD Project still believes in the potential of the brand

Studio boss Adam Kiciński said he continued to believe in the long-term potential of the Cyberpunk brand. Although the expanding content has been delayed due to a problematic release, the team has repeatedly mentioned in the past that it wants Cyberpunk to sell well for years, just like the Sorcerer before. Cyberpunk is constantly improving, but of course it won’t just stay with him, the management assured.

But the team did not want to reveal anything about the first expansion. According to Nowakowski, it is too early to talk about the release date or the price of the DLC. It’s no secret that the post launch content for the latest game from the Project CD was long overdue after the vast majority of the team had to work on fixing the game in the months after the game was released.
