The new update adds automatic message deletion and widgets

Telegram currently thanks to competing WhatsApp a more downloadable application and of course it does not want to leave it to chance. According to the portal AndroidPolice its latest update brings two important improvements.

Since its inception, the telegram has placed emphasis on the security of communication of its users, which is also one of the reasons for its current popularity. At the same time, however, it wants to bring popular trends that are also emerging from competitors. Its latest version 7.5.0 introduces a number of new features, the most important of which are the ability to automatically delete messages and new widgets.

Auto-delete must be enabled manually for each chat (click ⋮> ​​Clear History> Select Duration). You can choose between 24 hours and 7 days. Once enabled, a countdown to deleting messages is displayed. However, in groups and channels, only group and channel administrators will be able to set the countdown.

The Android application also received two new widgets. A chat widget that shows a preview of recent messages, and a shortcut widget that only shows names (customizable) and profile pictures. Widgets also appeared in beta a few days ago, so they may not be completely new to anyone.

Invitations to groups can be sent via QR codes

The new update also introduces several new group invitation enhancements. You can now convert invitation links to scannable QR codes. At the same time, invitation links can now be set to work only for a limited time or number of uses. It will also be possible to find out which users have joined using each link to determine its usability.

Groups that have reached the 200,000 user limit can be re-converted to really unlimited groups. Chat import and system reporting have also been improved. The v7.5.0 update is already available in the Google Play store, but you can also install it using an APK file.
