The new Silent Hill makes the studio Kojima Productions -apkrig
As a boomerang, speculation returns that the new Silent Hill is being created in the Kojima Productions studio. Respectively one of the new Silent Hills, to be more precise. On Friday, the Video Games Chronicle magazine released its own theme, in which it claims that Konami is going to revive the Metal Gear, Silent Hill and Castlevania brands through new premium games and remakes. We also wrote about it and VGC relied on its credible sources. The site also recalled its own older reports that Konami had licensed the Silent Hill brand to several different teams. One of them is to be the Polish Bloober Team, as is repeatedly speculated. The next one is a prominent Japanese studio, which, however, is not named by VGC.
But another well-informed magazine responded to this news. The Gematsu website has also heard that one Silent Hill is being formed on a leading Japanese team. And that studio is said to be Kojima Productions. The development is reportedly funded by Sony. So the carousel of speculation spun again that Sony had somehow reconciled Konami and Koji, and he would be able to return to the series after the unfinished PT. We have written many times about his desire to make a horror game.
And what about working with Microsoft?
And if you didn’t find a Gematsu source trustworthy enough, Jeff Grubb of VentureBeat magazine called. That message voted with the fact that he is not surprised. He reminded that there was talk that the Kojima Productions studio should establish some cooperation with Microsoft. The contract was very close, it had been written before. The question is whether, in the end, both parties finally agreed. And even if so, it is not written anywhere that Kojima cannot work on his games at the same time. In connection with the Xbox, there was talk that the team could redirect their haunted title there, which was originally supposed to be created in cooperation with Google for the Stadia cloud streaming service. The question is whether one team would have the desire and capacity to do two horror movies simultaneously for two different competing platforms.
It is no longer possible to recapitulate all possible conjectures and speculations on the account of the new Silent Hill. In this context, however, it is worth recalling, at least briefly, that for a very long time, various trusted insiders claimed that the new Silent Hill was being created in the Japan Studio team and was being worked on by some original authors. But then Sony canceled the first party team, and the alleged authors, led by the father of the series, Keiichiro Toyama, formed their own team, Bokeh Game Studio, where they form another as yet unnamed scary game. Even the “Silent Hill from Sony” was claimed to be a PS5 exclusivity funded by PlayStation.
