The Material Theme news is flying around your ears. Now video service Google Duo also has to believe it; the Material Theme from Android 12 is coming to the video calling app. Gmail, among others, was already equipped with the new design this week. The new designs can be found in the Google Duo Android app in version 159.

The button for starting a new call has been given a fresh coat of paint and features the familiar square-rounded corner. Here too, the colors of the background are taken over again if the device is equipped with Android 12. We also see the renewed search bar and other improvements.

Google is rolling out the update for Google Duo in phases. If it is available to you, it will appear in the Google Play Store.
