The verdict for this year 2020 has been rendered. According to the specialist site DxOMark, the best smartphone with a camera is the Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus. It greatly outperforms the competition like the iPhone 12 Pro Max or the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G.
The camera has become a staple on the phone. The DxOMark website is a specialist in the field and tests high-end devices in particular. The verdict is given in the form of a score and ranked in order of value. For its last benchmark of the year 2020, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus obtained a score of 139 points. It is simply the best number compared to the other devices in the ranking.
The Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus is the best camera phone on the market but without being accessible to everyone
As usual, Huawei confirms its quality in the photo part, in particular thanks to its partnership with the Leica brand. The Mate 40 Pro Plus is adorned with a system of five complementary cameras including a main 50 megapixel lens. You are also entitled to two telephoto modules, an ultra wide angle and a TOF. On the front side, a single 16 megapixel module is placed to improve self-portraits. The score is the result of hard work since 2016 as Huawei phones still get praise on their photo portion.
The only problem is that the company’s devices cannot be marketed under the Android operating system. On the ranking of DxOMark, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus surpasses the Pro version of the same range, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, the Huawei P40 Pro and finally the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Note that for the moment, the Chinese telephone is not yet marketed in France. Other manufacturers are aiming for partnerships with brands. This is the case of OnePlus or Vivo.
