The forgotten phone: Nokia C2-01 from 2011

Nokia has released many different devices in our country. Some probably tell you more than the others. In this edition of ‘The forgotten phone’ we discuss the Nokia C2-01, a very popular device from 2011.

Nokia C2-01

As the successor to the Nokia 2700 series, consisting of the Nokia 2700 Classic and Nokia 2730 Classic, it was time in 2011 for a new phone in the affordable segment. The phone, which had the recognizable Nokia design, was named Nokia C2-01 and was an incredibly popular device at the time. In the years that I worked in the telecom shop myself, this device was widely sold.

Was the Nokia C2-01 such a special phone? No definitely not. But at the time, it offered everything you could expect from an affordable device. A key feature was support for the 3G network, Series 40 operating system and a 3.2 megapixel camera. The device was also equipped with Bluetooth. Nokia gave the phone a 2.0 inch TFT display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The manufacturer gave the device about 50MB of storage space.

The Nokia C2-01 was equipped with Series 40 operating system, with the well-known applications and design. A 3.5 millimeter connection and an FM radio were also present on the budget device. Under the removable back was a 1020 mAh battery. For taking photos, the Finnish manufacturer had placed a 3.2 megapixel camera on the device. The smartphone was in the shops for 80-90 euros.
