The first cases of defective analogues appear on the DualSens -apkrig

If you are a owner of the Switch, you have most likely encountered a problem with the Joy-Con analog control levers in recent months. At best, only in articles, at worse on your own skin. The fact is, however, that all three leading console manufacturers have had problems with levers in the past, and this will obviously apply in the new generation as well. This is because the first complaints about the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller appear, and the first players describe the problem just as they did in previous platforms. There are a lot of videos on Reddit and social networks in general, in which you can see the arbitrary movement in the game without anyone touching the controller, and it is undoubtedly preparing for another wave of criticism and inconvenience. What is striking is that shortcomings of this type occur after such a short time since the launch of the console, for some even in a matter of weeks.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? What’s wrong with my driver? The right analog stick does what it wants… These are just a handful of questions and incomprehensible reactions, but they clearly describe what is happening to the controller. The mounting of the analog lever, which senses movement over the gamepad chassis, wears out very quickly and the signal transmission contacts show unwanted activity, even when the entire controller is at rest. In games, the problem manifests itself in an arbitrary movement to the sides, which is especially unpleasant in action titles – regardless of perspective – or races. But there are also those who, for understandable reasons, are prevented from drifting, even when watching Netflix, when there is a constant movement in the menu, which can be solved only by turning off the gamepad.

In addition, troubleshooting does not appear to be within reach for Joy-Con, and the situation may be similar for DualSens. After all, it was Nintendo’s representatives who did not want to comment on the drifting of analog levers at all before, and in the United States they even decided to fully subsidize complaints and give players new pieces immediately through retailers. However, the incident will be overwhelmed by the European Commission, which will probably ask Nintendo for an explanation and force the Japanese company to adjust the design of the driver so that failures as well as excessive environmental load do not occur. Therefore, something similar may apply to Sony if there are enough aggrieved customers to contact the protection authorities in their country.

In connection with DualSens, a new patent is also being solved these days, which suggests that the driver for the PS5 could also see a hardware addition in the form of rear levers. Like the Back Button Attachment for DualShock 4, the new driver extension has the ability to map players with additional buttons on the bottom of the controller and also use profile switches. The form and description of the addition really corresponds to the one we reviewed last year, but in addition to extended control schemes, it also brings several questions, such as how universal the new levers would be, or how developers could use them when there is no certainty that they are available. all players. However, it is still true that a patent does not mean automatically approved production and, as in other cases, it is still necessary to wait for official confirmation.

The article originally came across a link between DualSense and Joy-Cony through Immersion. However, it only took care of the projection of the haptic response and the behavior of the analog levers, resp. their failure rate did not affect in any way. The article has been adapted accordingly.
