The Fairphone 4 is official: 5 years warranty for a 5G smartphone at 579 euros
The all new Fairphone 4 has just been unveiled by the Dutch company. Always in an eco-responsible desire, the manufacturer offers an improved version of the smartphone without compromising on its philosophy. Is this sufficient in this ultra competitive market?
In an increasingly competitive global telephony market, the Dutch manufacturer is one of the few to hold its course. For its part, the technical sheet of the phone also benefits from major improvements. The animation is provided by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor including a 5G modem within it. The autonomy of the Fairphone 4 is based on a 3905 mAh battery. It also has an NFC chip, a USB-C port and a slot to place a Micro SD card. Finally the manufacturer sets up a triple camera with the following composition:
- A 48-megapixel primary lens
- An ultra wide angle of 48 megapixels

Can the promise of an eco-responsible smartphone be kept in 2021?
As with the entire range of the manufacturer, the Fairphone 4 is also built with a view to last. The phone meets IP54 waterproofing standards and you can replace each element using a screwdriver. Indeed, the European brand sells the various components of the product for five years. The repairability rating given is 9.2 / 10. In the software part, the mobile is delivered under Android 11 and should last until the 15th version. Be careful because the firm is often late in delivering the updates in question.
