The developers at Mediatonic made a really regrettable mistake. The authors of the game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout inadvertently uploaded to Steam together with the latest update of the game and its source code. Or something that at least some people report on, see below. How he pointed out on Twitter, the founder of Steam Database, Pavel Djundik, the non-public content got out in a folder called quite eloquently:
„FallGuys_client_BackUpThisFolder_ButDontShipItWithYourGame.“
This directory was not created by the developers themselves. It is allegedly generated automatically in the Unity engine that drives the game. In the help, the authors of the engine say that it contains the data needed for debugging. Game developers should back up the folder each time they release a new build, but do not distribute it with the title. Oops.
Although data that can be described as sensitive has been released, this is reportedly not the most original part.
At first glance, a comic mistake can, of course, bother the Mediatonic studio. Players and fans are worried that the team has inadvertently provided back gates to hackers and cheat makers who would have an easier job.
