The Czech Albatros -apkrig will arrive in Flight Simulator on November 18
Already yesterday in the early evening, we informed you that the so-called GOTY edition of Flight Simulator is being prepared for 18 November. Players on PCs and Xbox Series consoles will get it in the form of a free update, for everyone else, according to development director Jorg Neumann, it should be the best possible entry point into the wonderful world of flight simulators, newly supplemented with airports, sightseeing flights, tutorial missions and of course and new aircraft. And if you’ve been fussing over the announcement that one of them will also be the F / A-18 Super Hornet from Top Gun: Maverick, we have a little more jet joy for you. On the same day as Flight Simulator arrives: Game of the Year Edition, the previously announced Reno Air Races air races will start in the game, in which, in addition to the legendary Mustang or Texan, the Czech L-39 Albatross will also race.
Unlike GOTY, the Reno Air Races extension will not be free, and developers have also added important pricing information with a release date. Players will definitely not pay much, even if they choose only the basic variant called simply Expansion Pack. As a publisher, Microsoft will charge the equivalent of $ 20 for this, but on the other hand, players will get to most of the usable content. In the licensed races themselves, it will be possible to fly P-51 Mustang, T-6 Texan, Aviat Pitts Special S1S and the aforementioned L-39 Albatross from the Czech Aero Vodochody plant. The game content will represent the individual players’ own racing in all categories, and the developers describe the expansion as the first major expansion that others want to build on.
From the point of view of the Czech player, however, the complete package is even more interesting, including the races and all four mentioned machines, but for the price of $ 60 always in ten different color variants. Logically, this also applies to the Albatross, which will be available in American Patriot, American Spirit, Athena, Blue Ice, Drop Bear, Pipsqueak, Red Thunder, Robin I, Sarance and, last but not least, Tumbling Goose, although anyone might object, that it actually goes just about skins. The same applies to the remaining machines in other categories, which, in color and name, correspond to real aircraft racing in the Rhine. As an expected bonus, everyone will receive an improved landscape around Reno and a photogrammetrically processed city as such, which is a service that we expect from the licensed allowance and is definitely in place.
We will gradually find out from November 18 how fun it will be, how much it will attract players and how much it will encourage developers to do another similar activity. However, it remains certain that the addition applies to both versions – PC and console – and therefore there should be no difference between the individual versions.
