You count steps, calculate the calorie consumption and measure the pulse: Smartwatches have developed into real health helpers. The Galaxy Watch 3 from Samsung also attaches great importance to health and sports functions and offers, among other things, an integrated blood pressure monitor. But how practical is the feature in everyday life? Stiftung Warentest has the answer.

Praise from Stiftung Warentest: The Galaxy Watch 3’s blood pressure measurement is convincing

In a quick test, the product testers took a closer look at the blood pressure function in the Galaxy Watch 3 (source: Stiftung Warentest). Specifically, Stiftung Warentest wanted to know, among other things, how accurate the measurement is and how easy it is to use. The conclusion: “A practical new function for smartwatch fans with which blood pressure can be easily measured anywhere.” A quite surprising result, because the blood pressure function of the Galaxy Watch 3 is associated with a few pitfalls.

In order to be able to measure the blood pressure, the Galaxy Watch 3 must first be calibrated with a regular blood pressure monitor. According to Samsung, this process should be repeated at least once a month. Smartwatch wearers must also keep their arm still on a stable surface and must not drink coffee, alcohol or exercise for 30 minutes beforehand. Despite these quite extensive restrictions, the Stiftung Warentest has praise leftwhat Samsung should definitely like to hear.
