The classic BlizzCon will not take place this year -apkrig
Blizzard has announced that, unfortunately, BlizzCon will not take place in its traditional form this year either. However, the organizers are planning a hybrid event early next year. Last year’s festival was canceled due to coronavirus, and it is already clear to the organizers that they cannot target this November due to the complexity of all preparations. The patch is supposed to be a global online show combined with smaller face-to-face meetings.
It takes several months to organize a similar show.
What exactly will it look like in practice? We have to wait for that for now. Although the situation in the United States around the pandemic is improving, organizing and securing such an event for thousands of people is still not a matter of course, and most importantly, it costs a lot of time that the organizers have already run out.
Blizzard is well aware that many players are eager to travel around the globe in an effort to meet other fans, but safety comes first and it takes several months to hold a similar show. In addition, it represents a great burden not only for Blizzard itself, but also for their partners from the ranks of performers, guests, athletes and the like.
It seems that one of the first events with limited participation on the spot will be this year’s Tokyo Game Show, which falls from September 30 to October 3. Fortunately, this fair is increasingly focused on Western audiences.

Instead of the classic BlizzCon, the so-called BlizzConline took place this year. It was announced last September and took place from 19 to 20 February 2021. We received a number of novelties on this occasion, and the famous Metallica group also performed virtually here. The traditional BlizzCon usually falls in November and is home to the Anaheim Convention Center in California. The last traditional years were visited by about 40,000 people.
