Discover the ditch

Which animal swims fastest in the ditch? And what does the large spinning water beetle look like? During the IVN Slootjesdagen (11 to 13 June), nature guides are available at more than a hundred locations in the country with scoop nets, magnifying glass jars and search maps to teach children everything about life in the ditch.

Spring treasure hunt

Visiting a castle is a nice outing in itself, but especially if your child can do a treasure hunt.

In the gardens at Cannenburch Castle in Gelderland he can discover what grows in the vegetable garden and he sets out to investigate with a fishnet. He learns everything about the park by means of fun assignments. You can take the fishing net home afterwards.

Costs: 4 euros per child, every Saturday and Sunday between 11 am and 3 pm.

poisonous animals

Do you live in Friesland or are you there for a weekend? Then take a look at the Nature Museum Fryslân in Leeuwarden. There is a spectacular exhibition on poison to see.

Not only will your child learn which animals are poisonous, but also which plants to avoid. So fun and educational. And, a visit is very safe: all poisonous spiders, snakes and scorpions are in their terrariums behind the glass.

Please note: book in advance with time lock and always check the applicable corona rules prior to your visit.

Outdoor play day

On Wednesday 9 June it is National Outdoor Play Day. In addition to games at school, your child can also participate in fun activities in the neighbourhood.

For example, in the Amsterdam region, Jeugdland organizes a free program where children can go go-kart and build huts. Also nice: the cable car over the water and a huge slide mountain.

soccer camp

Do you have a real Frenkie de Jong walking around at home? Sign him up for an Ubuntu soccer camp and he’s sure to have the days of his life.

These super cool football camps are organized at various sports complexes throughout the Netherlands and last three or five days. In addition to playing football, your child learns to work together and there is entertainment for relaxation. Lunch, drinks and snacks are included, but your child will sleep at home in between.

Of course, the organization takes into account guidelines from the RIVM and the NOC * NSF with a view to corona.
