The authors of Detroit and Heavy Rain open a branch in Canada -apkrig

Although three years have passed since the release of the last game of the developers from Quantic Dream in May this year, the French studio does not hide its ambitions. After ending a close relationship with Sony, for whose Quantic Dream console he has been developing games exclusively for the past ten years, two years ago came an investment from the Chinese company NetEase, followed by the release of Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human on PC. studio opening a new branch. From this year, a studio in Montreal, Canada, led by Stéphane D’Astous, former project manager of the Deus Ex series in Eidos, and Yohan Cazaux, gameplay director of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Origins and Valhalla Yohan Cazaux, will work with the Paris headquarters.

“We have good news for you! Almost 25 years after its inception [studia] we are opening a new branch in Paris today, this time in Montreal. This is an understandable choice, given that the Quebec metropolis has been considered the capital of video games for many years, “reads the article on the Quantic Dream blog. The developers refer to a plethora of many studios based in the city, whether it is a branch of Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Eidos or, for example, Gameloft. In terms of exact address, the second Quantic Dream studio is located in the historic Atwater Avenue district and will be looking for employees from Europe and North America in the coming weeks. The current situation around the coronavirus pandemic then records the possibility of working from home and communicating with the team in Paris via video conferencing, which Quantic Dream does not seem to be a big problem.

The developers are first looking for leading programmers, graphic designers and designers, who must logically be at the composition of the team and decide who will be the most suitable candidate.

The new general manager further explains that the primary task of studying in Montreal will be to help the rest of the developers with the development of individual games, he is not thinking about his own project yet and for that reason, at least for now, the staff would not be too large. This is also underlined by the temporary number of advertisements, of which Quantic Dream has 40, but only six of them are related to the Canadian studio, although others will undoubtedly be added. The developers are first looking for leading programmers, graphic designers and designers, who must logically be at the composition of the team and decide who will be the most suitable candidate. It will not be until a few months later that it will be safer to talk about how a large team will eventually be formed in Montreal, or whether it will be able to focus on a second project being developed in the future.

We don’t know anything about specific plans for the new game yet, but designer David Cage let it be heard in an interview with IGN that he is not opposed to exploring new genres and possibilities. Although he has spent most of his career developing interactive story adventures, Cage believes there are other ways to tell stories in video games and will look for new, untested ways. However, we can only speculate to the extent that a 51-year-old developer can really get rid of what he does best at the moment, but we do not expect that he will milk the cow to the very end. “Each game has its own unique language, its own voice, and repeating things that worked in the past is not always a good way to move forward. You can expect continuity, but our intention is also to experiment with new things, ”concludes Cage.

The publishing efforts of Quantic Dream, to which the developers focused in 2019, cannot be left out either, not only with the desire to finance the development of selected titles, but also to help them creatively. The next project to be signed by the label Quantic Dream is Sea of Solitude: The Director’s Cut, followed by Dustborn from Red Thread Games.
