The authors of Crusader Kings or Hearts of Iron change the director -apkrig

Paradox Interactive informs in a short statement that the current CEO Ebba Ljungerud has resigned and will be replaced by the previous director Fredrik Wester, who left his position three years ago. The reason for this change is the disapproval of the outgoing director with the new strategy of the whole company, but the press release and Ebba Ljungerud itself does not provide further information. The arrival of Fredrik Wester is immediate and, according to a spokesman for Paradox, permanent, but the change of director should not be signed on the current plans and individual games.

“Due to differing views on the company’s future strategy, the CEO of Paradox Interactive decided to leave this position with immediate effect. The company’s Board of Directors has appointed Fredrik Wester as the new CEO. Ebba Ljungerud will remain an employee of the company for some time to ensure the proper handover of the function, “is a relatively strict message from the developers. However, there is a comment from the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Håkan Sjunnesson, who thanks the outgoing Director for all the work done and lists what has been achieved during her tenure. “The organization and gaming base has grown, as have our gaming projects, giving the company a strong foundation for future growth,” says Sjunnesson. She then regrets Ebby Ljungerud’s decision and wishes her all the best in her efforts for the whole Paradox.

The manager herself commented on the departure only on Twitter, but did not mention further details there either, and only expresses the desire to start working on other games in other companies. The only information beyond the diplomatic statements of both parties comes in response to one of the comments, where the fan asked Ebby Ljungerud what it means for popular strategies. “I know you can’t tell us any details about the circumstances you’re leaving in, so I’ll just ask – we’re worried about the future of our most beloved game publisher,” Sascha’s fan asked. However, Ljungerud completely rejected his concerns and claims that the company is in very safe and good hands.

Just as a reminder, we talk about the authors of games such as Europa Universalis, Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron or Stellaris, who are doing unusually well in a specific genre of grand strategy. It was the Crusader Kings III who recently received the announcement of a special console version, which some call the change of direction and a possible step aside by which Ljungerud is leaving. The fact remains, however, that Paradox is no way to console games does not shield and Stellaris, for example, collected above-average marks on consoles, as did Cities: Skylines and Pillars of Eternity, published by Paradox. It is therefore not easy to estimate exactly what the management did not agree with the director, and it is likely that if we are to find out this information, it will not be until several years later, when Ljungerud comes to some balance and recollection.
