The author wants to resurrect the lost PS4 exclusivity -apkrig

The Tomorrow Children was quite special. If you haven’t played it, you probably won’t even remember it. If so, you will definitely remember immediately. It was a PS4 exclusivity from Q-Games and Japan Studio, which was introduced at Gamescom 2014. In 2016, the title was released and it was soon clear that it would not make a big hole in the world. The ratings were average and the game ended a year later. But that doesn’t mean she was necessarily bad. Above all, she was very unusual. It was a visually distinctive and unorthodox mix of dystopia, Soviet post-apocalypse and multiplayer remotely inspired by, for example, Minecraft. Now its author says he would like to resurrect the idea.

“I’ll try to get the IP back, and if I succeed, I’ll definitely think of ways to re-release the game, but without the servers.”

Dylan Cuthbert is trying to get the rights from Sony to his lost PlayStation exclusivity and hopes for a re-release. He stated this in a special video shot by the Japanese branch of IGN. It was created on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the game, because as an online title, the original has been unplayable for several years. But Cuthbert brought his own developer version of the title, which he likened to Animal Crossing. And because many fans ask about the game, it gives them some hope for the future.

“Unfortunately, the Sony brand belongs at the moment. I will try to get the IP back and if I succeed, then I will definitely think about ways to re-release the game, but without the servers, “said Cuthbert. According to him, it was the costs of running the servers that became fatal for the project. Otherwise, they could let the game run and people could continue to play it.

Cuthbert also touched on what it’s like to make a game that suddenly doesn’t exist beyond the developer version. Of course, he’s sorry, because he obviously still believes in the whole concept. It is said that people in his studio now play the game and apparently enjoy it. But whether anyone else will touch The Tomorrow Children now depends only on Sony. And Cuthbert definitely doesn’t want to give fans false hope. The ball is on the PlayStation side.

I have to admit that while watching a new video from the game, which has been off for four years, I was flooded with a certain nostalgia, as Dylan Cuthbert talks about it. I am well aware that this is not a mainstream, after all, this is probably why the game did not completely fit into Sony’s portfolio. In fact, it’s a really weird title in many ways, but its otherness is in a way appealing if you’re looking for original experiences. And also its technical processing, because the authors wanted to get as close as possible to the pre-rendered animators, which I think they did. The game Tomorrow Children is also connected with the fact that it is one of the few with which I really actively said goodbye just before it was turned off.
