iPhone 13 rumors: these are the most important
Rumors about the latest iPhones will also rain in 2021, months before they are officially unveiled. iPhoned has looked at them all and listed the eight most reliable and most striking.
1. The return of Touch ID
The return of Touch ID seems to be the major overhaul of the iPhone 13. Apple would like to process a fingerprint scanner in the screen, so that your identity is checked when you put the tip of your finger on the display.
Also Face ID is said to be present in the iPhone 13, so you can choose the best unlock way depending on the moment. Whether Touch ID is incorporated in all four iPhones, or is only reserved for the more expensive Pro versions, is not yet clear.
2. Camera: improved lenses, especially in the dark
Every year Apple takes steps to improve camera quality. The number of lenses will not be tinkered with this year, but the quality of these lenses seems to be improving. For example, all four models would get new optical image stabilization, which improves the quality of videos and ensures less blurred photos.
The ultra-wide-angle lens must also improve, with improvements in particular to improve photos in the dark. Night mode already polishes photos in low light, but this should be another step to boost this level even further.
3. Screen: finally ProMotion?
The screen size will most likely remain the same in 2021 as it was last year. Apple will also again use OLED panels, probably produced by Samsung.
What may change is the refresh rate of these displays. The iPhone would switch to a 120Hz display, a screen that refreshes the image 120 times every second. This doubling makes animations look much smoother, because the iPhone has twice the frames per second to show animations.
Last year there were also rumors about the arrival of this ‘ProMotion screen’ to the iPhone, but this would have been canceled at the last minute. It now seems that the technology will be ready in 2021, although this mainly sounds like a ‘Pro function’ to make the more expensive iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max attractive.
4. Storage: the first iPhone with 1 terabyte
Apple would like to release the first iPhone this year with 1 terabyte of storage space. That is no superfluous luxury now that apps are getting bigger and photos and videos also demand more and more from the internal memory of your iPhone.
That is why an extra option of 1 terabyte would be added, for which you will of course also have to pay a little extra. This could just mean that Apple equips all iPhones with more storage as standard. That would be handy, because in 2021 it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage with 64GB.
5. Wifi: support wifi 6th
According to several analysts, the iPhone 13 models will receive Wi-Fi 6th support. That is the latest version of WiFi that increases the maximum speed a little further. Much more important is the expansion of the network capacity. This creates more space to be connected to more devices at the same time.

6. Notch and design
The iPhone 12 introduced a new design, so don’t assume the iPhone 13 will reinvent the wheel this year. The new iPhones will at most get a new color to choose from.
What may change is the size of the notch. The screen cutout has not changed since the iPhone X in 2017, but Apple is said to have found a way to package the necessary parts more compactly. As a result, a smaller notch is required in the screen.
7. Four models
It looks like Apple will release four versions of the iPhone 13 this year. A smaller and cheaper iPhone 13 mini, the regular iPhone 13, more expensive iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro with the largest screen.
What price tag Apple hangs on the devices is still unclear. As soon as we know more about this, you will of course read it iPhoned.
8. Available from September 2021
Last year, Apple suffered from the pandemic, which delayed the production of the iPhone 12. That is why the four models appeared a lot later than we are used to. This year, Apple has revised its manufacturing process so that all four iPhone 13 models are scheduled for unveiling and launch in September.
