Android in December

Google announced that Android Auto is officially coming to the Netherlands and Belgium. After an update was previously rolled out for the Weeronline app, a nice update for the Weeronline application appeared in December. From Weeronline 3.11 you can use the dark theme and there is a new widget that you can place on your home screen.

Another app that got updates this month was Google Maps. An update was rolled out with the Go tab in December. A major wallpaper update was rolled out for WhatsApp in December. From now on you can choose a different background for each chat separately. In addition, you can choose from a light or dark theme and adjust the degree of brightness for a dark one. The choice of backgrounds has also been expanded with different categories.
The Facebook app finally got the long-awaited new feature too. From now on, you can use the dark theme in the social network app. This makes the app more pleasant to use in low-light environments. You will find the option in the menu with the three dashes. There you scroll down where you come across the block ‘Dark mode’. You can set the dark theme to be activated automatically based on the phone settings or manually.
It’s kind of the month of the Google apps. The Google Photos Android app has also been updated with a nice new feature. From now on you can set memories from Google Photos as wallpaper. The background is alternated every so often with another memory of a photo you took years ago. In addition, the handy photo map uses the Google Maps timeline.
Travel app 9292 was updated in December with some new features. First of all, the crowding indicator has been added in the 9292 app. If this data is available, you can see how busy the bus, train, tram or metro is likely to be. In addition, it is possible to purchase an e-ticket for your trip via the 9292 app.
