1. Showdown

Do you love the 80’s and shooter games? Then Showdown is made for you. This new game is steeped in 80s references and features a retro design with figures straight out of The Terminator movies.

You play the game from a sideways perspective where the mission is simple: make sure all enemies are defeated. Once you’ve done this you can move on and keep repeating this until you get to the final boss. So Showdown is not very profound, but it is certainly entertaining. This is mainly because the game plays very nicely. The game costs 8.99 euros, but you can try it for free.

2. Pok Pok Playroom

At the far end of the gaming spectrum, we come across Pok Pok Playroom. This game is made for the very youngest (aged 2 to 6) and works best on an iPad. Pok Pok Playroom is, as you can tell from the name, a digital playroom containing various games.

After starting up, children can choose from a total of six different activities. For example, you have an interactive carpet and several drawing / puzzle games at your disposal. Everything is fresh and cheerfully designed so that it is inviting for children. Above all, there is no text: the games are self-explanatory and very simple to operate. The game does cost money: 3.99 euros per month, or 29.99 euros per year.

3. The Zones App

Now that the gyms are open again, it’s time to get off the couch again. The new Apple Watch Zones App helps with this. The application shows how hard you are currently training by looking at your heart rate.

At the beginning of the training you indicate what your goals are, or you choose one of the standard training sessions. Then Zones App helps to boost, maintain and decrease your heart rate. By following this pace you can last longer and you can lose more weight or fat, for example. The app is free, but to unlock all functions you have to deposit 10.99 euros.

Mad Skills Motocross 3

The wildly popular Mad Skills Motocross series is another part richer. In Motocross, the graphics and controls in particular have been overhauled. As a result, the racing game looks much better than its predecessor and driving the bike feels smoother (and more natural).

The objective of the game is simple: win the race. That is easier said than done, because you have to cross the hills very tactically. If you give too much gas, you will fly out of the corner. If you give too little gas, you will hardly get up the hill. A cool fact is that there are real engine sounds in Motocross 3. The game is free, but you can make in-game purchases to get a better engine, for example.
