The iPhone 14 has not improved in many areas compared to the iPhone 13. But there is one really nice news: it turns out that all variants of the iPhone 14 have the same amount of RAM. And that has some advantages.

iPhone 14 has more RAM than iPhone 13
Apple never reveals how much RAM is in new iPhones. Nevertheless, we know from a study in Apple’s ‘Xcode’ development environment that every model of the iPhone 14 has the same amount of working memory (RAM).
This is striking considering that last year the iPhone 13 Pro (6GB) clearly got more temporary storage than the regular iPhone 13 (4GB). Now all iPhone 14 models have 6GB of RAM. That means that there is 50 percent more RAM in the normal iPhone 14 compared to its predecessor.
What is working memory and why is it important?
Working memory mainly determines the apps that you run in the background. If your phone has more RAM, you can switch between apps faster. The apps do not have to be closed. That is why it is also called the ‘temporary storage memory’. We think – at the time of writing of course – that the 6GB of RAM that you now find under the hood of every iPhone 14 model is more than enough.
It is also a bit illogical that the Pro models have as much RAM as the normal iPhones. They have more advanced functions that may require more working memory. The 48-megapixel camera in particular will require some RAM. Incidentally, the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) does have a more powerful A16 chip. This one is considerably faster than its predecessor. The normal iPhone 14 (Plus) is also slightly improved in terms of chip, but technically has the same processor as the iPhone 13 Pro (Max).
