Stack Overflow remains independent
Prosus is a technology investor based in Amsterdam. The parent company Naspers is the largest shareholder in Tencent. Recently, Prosus had parted with a part for 14.6 billion dollars and thus signaled interest in acquisitions, as Finanz.net reports.
Joel Spolsky, one of the founders of Stack Overflow explained in a blog postthat the platform continues to work independently and the team remains unchanged. No major changes are to be expected as a result of the takeover. The business will continue to focus on reach and relevance and the stack overflow for teams.
“Stack Overflow is deeply committed within its community and is an invaluable tool for collaboration and learning in the technical field,” writes Prosus of his acquisition. A new question is published every 14 seconds. Together they want to expand the range. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2021.
