T-Mobile broadcasts 5G from 270 new locations and covers a tenth of people

The Czech operator T-Mobile announced that it has strengthened its 5G network in the Czech Republic last month about another 270 transmitters. In total, it has 600 and coverage covers over 10% of the Czech population, and by the end of the year would like to provide this signal to more than a quarter of the domestic population. A network that is capable of baud rate up to 1 Gb / s and millisecond latency, now appears mainly in the vicinity of technology universities and companies.

“The benefits of 5G networks are currently interesting, especially for companies that have embarked on a journey Industry 4.0, as well as for research and development on university grounds. That’s why we focus on campus private mobile networks, which allow scientists, students and companies to develop the concepts of smart factories of the future and digitized production. Of course, we do not forget about our other customers, who are mainly interested possibility of unlimited data transmissions in the mobile network. We have prepared new tariffs for them since September, for which they will never reach the limit of transferred data, “says Tomáš Verner, ICT Solutions Development Manager at T-Mobile Czech Republic.

T-Mobile operates 5G public networks on the 1,800 and 2,100 MHz frequencies and, after a recent auction, also on the 700 MHz frequency. The operator operates its first on the premises of CIIRC CTU 5G Stand Alone (5G SA). Unlike the 5G Non-standalone (5G NSA), which still uses 4G in some parts, the 5G Stand Alone version comes with a complete 5G architecture. It offers higher speeds, lower latency and the possibility of a massive IoT connection.
