Summary of the February State of Play -apkrig

We have another State of Play broadcast, in which Sony devoted most of its attention to smaller but still very interesting titles. If you want to see the whole record with our translation, you have the option. Below you will find all the essential details about the individual titles to which time was devoted in the footage. We just discovered the release date of Ken: Bridge of Spirits and Oddworld: Soulstorm. We also saw another preview of Arkane’s Deathloop and could watch the fear and dread in Freddy’s new sequel Five Night At. The highlight of the evening was the confirmation of the improved PS5 version of the Final Fantasy VII Remake, which will arrive in early June with a content addition.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

The Final Fantasy VII remake is aimed at the PlayStation 5 with the subtitle Intergrade. It will be released on June 10 and will offer improved graphics, faster recording times, photo mode, haptic feedback and, above all, a new episode with Yuffie. Graphic enhancements include higher resolution textures, a fog effect, or better lighting. Players will be able to choose from two graphics modes. The first prefers 4K resolution, the second 60 fps. Owners of the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 for free and also transfer saved positions.

Returnal

The Finnish developers from the Housemarque team, also known for their arcades Nex Machina, Alienation or the successful launch title Resogun for PlayStation 4, also brought their trailer for State of Play. Their new Returnal is an atmospheric sci-fi third person event coming exclusively PlayStation 5 on April 30 this year. Returnal will be a purely tale affair, in which the main heroine named Selene sets out to examine the distress signal to an unknown planet. However, to her disaster, she dies soon after entering the surface of the planet, but her misfortune is richly balanced by the fact that Selene is locked in a time loop and after each death comes a revival and goes again. And how such an event looks like in practice, you can already see in the enclosed trailer. It is more than obvious that the change in perspective did not allow the authors to forget the arcade past.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Developers from Ember Lab have prepared a new demo for the picturesque game Ken: Bridge of Spirits for State of Play. Once again, we could watch the main heroine try to free a creature named Rot, representing the souls of the world around us. With their help, Ken acquires new abilities and fights against the evil that has taken on relatively clear contours in the new show. It is already clear that the fight will play an important role in the whole experience and Ken will definitely not just be a wonderful color matter. Most importantly, however, we have finally learned the release date – you can look forward to the game on August 24 this year, with pre-orders already running. The game will be released on PC, PS4 and PS5 for a price corresponding to $ 40, or 50, if you reach for the Deluxe edition. In addition to the game itself, it also includes a digital courttrack and new skins for Kenya.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time

We were the first to receive a trailer for the upcoming Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time for PlayStation 5. Among the announced innovations is, in addition to the possibility of transferring saved positions from the previous generation of the console, also technological innovations. Here, creative producer Lou Studdert mentions, for example, adaptive triggers, support for 60 frames per second and 4K resolution. The game will be released on March 12 (then it will also arrive on the Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series console), and owners of the PS4 version of the game can also look forward to a free upgrade.

Deathloop

Not only the Returnal action works with the time loop, but also the upcoming FPS from Arkane Studios – Deathloop. In this title, players will be able to take on the role of Colt’s killer, who finds himself on Blackreef Island, on May 21st. We are currently introduced to a fresh trailer, which, in addition to loops full of frenetic skirmishes and silent liquidations, also reveals great variability in the environment and significant stylization reminiscent of spy films set in the 1960s. The task is to kill eight targets locked in the same loop. Colt has one major advantage over them – at the end of each night, the world restarts, but he himself remembers what preceded it. And that’s how they learn. The only catch can be the multiplayer component of the game in the longer term. Each player can join the game of someone else, so in the role of a bodyguard, which brings a random element to the game.

Oddworld: Soulstorm

The authors of the logic platformer Oddworld: Soulstorm presented us with a new example from the game. The title is aimed at both the PS4 and PS5 consoles and will be released on April 6. In addition, PS Plus subscribers will receive a free version of PlayStation 5. It will be available from release until May 3. The authors call the game a 2.9D platformer and it is a complete reboot of the original Abe’s Exoddus, which was created within the gallows time limit, and the authors could not put all the intended ideas into it at that time.

Solar Ash

During the State of Play, we received the first full-fledged demo of Solar Ash from the developers of Heart Machine. As we could see, a relatively surreal world inside a wormhole awaits us, in which the main heroine moves with an interest in locking Nothing once and for all and preventing the universe from falling further into her. The motto of the game is to be the speed and fluency of all movements, which you will use not only in platform passages, but of course also in duels. There, the main heroine Ray is also waiting for big monsters, guardians of nothingness, whose fight resembles the fights in Shadow of the Colossus. The game is aimed at both PS4 and PS5 and we will see it later this year.

Sifu

Studio Sloclap (Absolver) has announced a new game of Sifu. It is a third person action in which a player becomes a young kung fu student who sets out on a journey for revenge. He’s looking for his family’s killers. Duels will play a major role here and we should use the environment and its objects to our advantage.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach

The sequel to the horror series Five Nights at Freddy’s with the subtitle Security Breach was played during tonight. If you played any of the previous episodes, you have a fairly clear idea of what to expect – a picturesque world and a lot of unpleasant situations. For the first time in the series, however, players will be able to move freely with the main character Gregory throughout the Mega Pizza Plex and actively hide from monsters. In addition, it seems that Purple Guy is not as completely out of the game as it may have seemed from previous games, and the developers seem to be preparing many surprises. The game will be released during the year on PC, PS4 and PS5.

Knockout City

One of the titles presented is Knockout City from the independent Velan Studios team based in New York State. In the past, this studio worked on Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit and is preparing a novelty within the EA Originals program. We introduced Knockout City just a week ago, and if you’ve read about the game, you know it’s a multiplatform online action title in which players fight together in a futuristic version. It will be tested in early April (from 2nd to 4th), as part of an open beta version, which will offer a tasting not only of the content itself, but also of the promised support for multiplatform network gaming.
