Steam is preparing a game festival with more than 500 demo versions -apkrig

Last year’s disruption of game fairs forced developers and publishers to look for new ways to provide players with the opportunity to try out upcoming titles and, as part of ongoing marketing campaigns, to remind them what to look forward to. Therefore, several collaborations took place with Steam festivals, in which players could download and play tens to hundreds of demos of upcoming games for a limited time, or watch press conferences or interviews with developers. Probably because the situation in the world is not changing much and there are no signs that it should improve in the near future, Steam decided to continue the mentioned festivals this year and the first of them will start on the evening of February 3. There should be over 500 demos available to complement the author’s streams and chat with developers, not just the games themselves.

The February event already has its own special page on Steam, but you wouldn’t read much about it at the moment. In addition to the possibility to add a reminder to your own calendar, a short trailer with a sample of several titles that will be possible to try out is prepared for the upcoming festival. However, the official Steam channel on YouTube brings a closer look at the individual games in the videos divided by categories, and it must be acknowledged that we can find some interesting pieces in them from our point of view. First of all, hundreds of demos will be included in the categories of action games, adventure, horror, platform, logic, RPG, sports / racing, VR, visual novels and strategy, while videos with a length of about one minute will not logically include the entire offer. However, you can watch them with Czech subtitles, and since they are overwhelmingly independent pieces, a short description certainly comes in handy.

If you prefer to play heroes, the face of the Trail of Ayash is interesting, in which you look at North America several hundred years before the first settlers from Europe visited its shores.

In particular, you can look forward to, for example, the beautifully styled Hazel Sky adventure, in which you take on the role of a talented mechanic exploring an island full of various inventions that can be repaired or made into completely new pieces, including aircraft. Another noteworthy game is the point and click thriller Slender Threads, which visually resembles, for example, Broken Age by Tim Schafer, and according to the description, we should be really afraid even in the case of the demo. If you prefer to play heroes, the face of the Trail of Ayash is interesting, in which you look at North America several hundred years before the first settlers from Europe visited its shores. The example shows footage from the battle of the indigenous people against the Nordic invaders, which is not exactly a common topic, and the title looks all the more promising. As mentioned in the introduction, owners of VR headsets will also get their money’s worth, for example in the demo Blunt Force – a spy game from the Second World War, which treats on the heels of the recently released Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.

Of course, there are many more titles in the demonstrations, and only next week will it fully show whether there is an unexpected piece in the menu. Even if this does not happen in the end, we are happy for similar events, which serve as a replacement for trade fairs and their nooks, literally crowded with small stalls, where smaller studios or individuals present their own games. Perhaps we will be able to provide you with information about them directly from the venue of an actual event as soon as possible.
