Spotify Premium not working? You can do that
If you have subscribed to Spotify Premium, but you continue to hear ads or suddenly hear ads again, you can’t turn off shuffle and you’re not allowed to download the music, something is wrong. Here you can find out what you can do if the premium subscription to the music streaming service doesn’t work.

Log out and log in
Logging in again will also update your status. Maybe that’s enough to get access to the premium features again.
Log out on the smartphone
- Opens the Spotify app on your mobile device.
- Tap that gear icon top right.
- Swipe all the way down and presses on the last menu item “De-register”.
- Now you can log in again directly with your account data.
Log out on the PC app
- Starts the Spotify app on the PC.
- Click on the top left three points (…).
- Move the mouse pointer up “File” and then click “De-register” at.
Alternatively, you can always keyboard shortcut ctrl + Old + W in the PC app to log out directly.
Check subscription status
If you are still missing the premium functions after logging in again, you should check your subscription status. To do this, open it in a new tab Account overview of Spotify and see what the service is under “Your subscription” indicates.
If it just says “Spotify Free”, you really don’t have premium access anymore. This can also have different reasons:
Duo or family member?
If you get the premium membership through a family member’s duo or family subscription, they may have changed something.
Either the subscription manager has ended the premium subscription himself, is having problems with the payment service provider, or has actively removed you from the group. In that case, you’ll need to speak to the main account owner to find out what the problem is and ask for a re-invitation.
verify payment
If you took out the subscription yourself, you should check whether there are any problems with your payment service provider. In the Account Summary you can also see directly which payment method you are using.
Checks whether the payment details are all correct and whether something has changed with the service provider or whether a problem has arisen.
