Spotify HiFi unveils a little more before launch
Spotify will soon offer a HiFi offer and it turns out that the Android application is already ready. A video show which the app hides, suggesting that the launch may well be imminent.
The video explains that a HiFi indicator appears when playing music on Spotify. If the light is green, then the HiFi is indeed active and the user benefits from excellent sound quality, which is intended to be lossless. If, on the other hand, the LED is white / gray, then there is a problem. A simple press on it lets you know what is stuck. A bad connection can be one of the reasons. Because as you might expect, lossless audio files carry a certain weight.
The rest of the video shows that the support for Spotify Connect is still there. The user can thus enjoy HiFi on other devices. However, they must be compatible to enjoy an excellent sound experience.
Spotify has already said that its HiFi offer will be available later this year, without giving a date. Its original announcement dates back to last February. Since that time, Apple Music has activated its lossless / HiFi offer for its customers, at no additional cost. Amazon has done the same. Will Spotify keep up with its competition or charge for the best sound quality? Unfortunately, you have to wait to know the answer.
