In a new video, Elon Musk’s space company SpaceX shows the successful test flight of the fifth Starship prototype from different perspectives.

After four explosions in the course of the test, SpaceX successfully landed a Starship a week ago and on the fifth attempt. Starship SN15 went back to the launchpad without any problems. Only a small fire in the area of the floor slab was extinguished by an automated device without much fuss.

Show of force: Look here, we can do it. And you?

Proof of a functioning prototype is a weighty argument for SpaceX in the competition for the initially frozen award of the contract for NASA’s Artemis lunar project. Because of the objections of the competitors Blue Origin and Dynetics at the US audit office, NASA had to suspend the contract already concluded with SpaceX. It will now be checked by the Court of Auditors by August 4, which will almost certainly torpedo the start date in 2024.

Unlike Blue Origin and Dynetics, SpaceX can already prove that it has a suitable flight object in its portfolio to process the order. Probably to make sure that nobody overlooks it, SpaceX has prepared the fifth flight of a Starship in a spectacular way.

How the Starship begins and successfully ends its mission can be seen from several perspectives. With Blue Origin and Dynetics, this should provide significantly less pleasure than the average viewer.

In slow motion and in 4k resolution, the creators show the take-off and landing from different camera angles near the launchpad. The sequences that they couldn’t film themselves, they took over from SpaceX. This video is also a must-see for SpaceX enthusiasts.
