Sony to take PlayStation 5 DualSense controller to court
Sony indeed has a lawsuit on its pants over the alleged controller drift of the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller.
It seemed to be coming last week, but now it’s official. Sony has filed a lawsuit for problems with the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, GamesIndustry.biz writes. According to the law firm, Sony is ‘fraudulent and misleading’ by releasing the DualSense. They would know that controller drift would occur. You need to know this about the lawsuit.
Lawsuit against Sony DualSense
The US firm Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is filing a lawsuit against Sony over the alleged controller drift of the DualSense. There would be a widespread problem with the PlayStation 5 controllers where movements would be registered without the player providing input.
The class-action lawsuit (in which the prosecution represents a large group) revolves around Sony’s involvement. According to the office, Sony knew about the problems. They would have cheated the consumer with this.
Owing to Sony’s unfair, deceptive and / or fraudulent practices, DualSense controller owners have suffered losses, even injuries, and damage. As a result, the prosecution is suing Sony for violating consumer fraud rules, breaching warranty, and dishonest gain. The prosecution wants monetary compensation for the damage suffered (…)
The prosecutor in court documents
Controller drift is apparently a big problem, also for other platforms. Although we were not bothered by anything in our PS5 review, it is of course an annoying fact. That said, the lawsuit against Sony’s DualSense is again typically American. Players would even have been injured by controller drift ?!
Regardless, affected gamers can ship their controller to Sony at least in the United States. He will then repair the DualSense for free, although the shipping costs are for the user. If the lawsuit goes ahead and the prosecution is proved right, it will only have an effect in the US.
