Sony has removed Japan Studio from its -apkrig family of studios

At the end of February, the first speculations emerged that Sony wanted to limit the operation of the team in Japan Studio. However illogical they seemed, especially the sides of the brands behind which the studio stood, but also with regard to all previous statements about the importance of domestic development and the diversity of the game catalog. Yet the process mortification has been officially underway for several months now, and the only active grave will be the Asobi studio, which was introduced in 2013 with the presentation game The Playroom for PS4 and then a pair of other titles with Astro Bot, including the current Astro’s Playroom. But now comes another unpleasant step, which is defacto lubrication history of Japan Studio, which has disappeared from the official website of Sony’s internal teams.

As the editors of Push Square and Video Games Chronicle noticed, at the end of last month, in the section Our studies discovered the famous logo of the company that gave the world series such as ApeEscape, LocoRoco, Patapon, Gravity Rush, Siren and more. But now only the color logo of the Asobi team is on the site of Japan Studio, and the fate of the traditional Sony group can probably be considered closed. So it is a painful formality and underlining the fact that in recent months a large part of Japan Studio’s employees have ended up and many of them have taken refuge in the new team of Keichiro Toyama, who left a year ago and founded his own studio Bokeh. Coincidentally, this made itself known at the end of June, when more information arrived about the emerging horror, which has literally tangled your head.

As for Japan Studio, it has been said before that the production was not profitable enough for Sony and that the diversion of activities to the second track took place at the end of last year. However, this creates space for the aforementioned Asobi, who, according to creative director Nicolas Doucet, can finally spread its wings and grow into a large studio. PlayStation Studios President Hermen Hulst then stated that he could not wait for another adventure with Astra and it can be expected that at least in the future, people from Asobi will work with this character. In addition, the developers say they are committed to technology, so we can expect further use of haptic response and adaptive triggers, and with the VR adventure of the Astro Bot Rescue Mission, it would be likely if Asobi also demonstrated the potential of the emerging PSVR 2.
