Sonos accidentally leaks new product in its app: we know this

Sonos has dropped the name “Sub Mini” in a help menu about subwoofers in the app. Only there is no Sonos Sub Mini yet. There is every indication that this new subwoofer will be cylindrical and will have a lower price tag.

Recently, a Sonos user spotted with his attentive eye that the audio manufacturer is working on a more affordable subwoofer. The Sonos Sub Mini popped up in a support app menu and it was listed alongside the already existing Sub (Gen 1, 2, and 3). Immediately, the user posted a screenshot in the Sonos community on the social news site Reddit.

According to the leaked information, Sonos is working on a smaller subwoofer that will be cylindrical instead of rectangular. Sonos is therefore not the first to opt for a cylinder shape, because manufacturers such as SVS and OSD already preceded Sonos. It sounds very logical that the company wants to offer a smaller subwoofer, because you now have to pay about 800 euros for the current Sub (Gen 3). Not everyone is willing to pay that much for a richer bass sound.

For now, few other details about the Sub Mini are known. We already know that the device cannot work with a second subwoofer.
