Isn’t it time the AirPods got their own app? An app would make it a lot easier to get to all the earbud settings. That’s why we show with this concept what an app for the AirPods might look like!

Concept: A dedicated AirPods app
With almost every new version of the AirPods, the earbuds get more functions or some settings are added. Sometimes it is not entirely clear where you can find certain settings of the AirPods. That’s why it’s high time for your own app!
AirPods app concept: similar to Apple Watch app
An app for the AirPods would be similar to that of the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. On the first tab of the app you can easily access the settings of your AirPods. At the top you will see the AirPods that you are currently using. You can immediately see how the battery is doing and it is also possible to switch between different sets of earplugs. Handy if you also have a set of AirPods Pro or AirPods Max.

On the first tab we also expect multiple buttons to different settings. For example, consider setting Spatial Audio or automatic ear detection.
In addition, there should of course be clear options for downloading software updates. The software updates regularly cause questions for AirPods owners, because there is not much you can do yourself to start the download. Sometimes you just have to be lucky that you get the update right away.
That is why the software updates deserve their own place in the app, somewhat similar to the app for Apple Watch. It would also be nice if you get a notification here when an update is ready.
The middle tab of the Apple Watch app lists the different watch faces. The AirPods don’t have anything comparable, so on this tab the apps and Apple services related to music, podcasts and music get their own place.
On the third tab, we expect an overview with functions and useful tips, just like with the Apple Watch app. This is also where the innovations of any software updates will be placed.
