Chinese manufacturer Oppo has announced a new 5G smartphone. The Oppo A73 5G has a large and smooth 90Hz screen and is affordable at 329 euros.

Oppo A73 5G officially announced
The Oppo A73 5G is especially notable for its – as the name already reveals – 5G support. Although the new mobile network is not yet available everywhere in the Netherlands, the Oppo phone is ready for the future. The device has a MediaTek Dimensity 720 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space.
The Oppo A73 5G also has a smooth 90Hz screen. This means that the display is refreshed 90 times per second and that produces fast and smooth animations. The smartphone therefore feels smoother in use. The screen is 6.5 inches in size, has a hole at the top left for the selfie camera and a resolution of 2400 by 1080 pixels.

On the back of the Oppo A73 5G are three cameras: a main camera of 16 megapixel, 8 megapixel wide-angle lens and 2 megapixel black and white camera. The device uses artificial intelligence to improve your photos and also has a night mode. As a result, snapshots that you take in the dark look brighter.
The A73 5G runs on Android 10, an outdated version of the mobile operating system. The expectation is that the smartphone will later be updated to the newer Android 11. Oppo explains the ColorOS software on Android, which adds all kinds of useful features but also significantly adjusts the appearance.
Furthermore, the new Oppo phone is equipped with a 4040 mAh battery. This is not huge, but should be enough to make it to the end of the day. Fast charging (with 18 Watt) is available, so that the phone is full again relatively quickly. The fingerprint scanner, which you use to unlock the smartphone, is on the side, in the on / off button.
Oppo A73 5G release and price
The Oppo A73 5G has a suggested retail price of 329 euros and appears in one color: black. The device is from December 3 available at Dutch (web) stores, but for sale today through the official Oppo web store.
