Smartphones from the Galaxy S20 series receive a February security update

Samsung continues to update its smartphones in bulk. The Galaxy S20 series receives a February security update, the SamMobile portal informed.

Update for S20 series currently only available in some countries

The new firmware is labeled G98 ** XXS6CUA8 and in the coming days will be available to owners of last year’s Galaxy S20 series flagships – Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 + and Galaxy S20 Ultra. The update will first reach Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Nordic countries and the United Kingdom. He will come to other countries later.

This update only brings the February security patches, and we don’t expect it to bring any new features. You can manually check for an update in Settings in the Software update section.

The competition will focus on Android 11

The competition is diligently updating its devices to Android 11. Sony has already managed to update the Xperia 1, Xperia 5 and Xperia 5 II models in the new year. The latest version of Android was also given to the Mi Note 10 Lite model from Xiaomi. On the contrary, the update for the Mi A3 model was suspended because it completely disabled the device.

Huawei also plans to update in the new year. Earlier this month, it published a complete plan for updates to EMUI 11.

OnePlus recently introduced a beta version of Android 11 for its affordable OnePlus Nord model. The company has also committed to upgrading the older ones to Android 11 in addition to its new models. The oldest OnePlus device that will officially receive Android 11 will be the OnePlus 6.
