Smartphone maker is saving money in the wrong place
Apple presented the iPhone 13. However, Samsung does not seem to have any great ambitions to utilize the full potential in the equipment of the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus. The best hardware comes from the company itself.
Samsung Galaxy S22 without the best 50 MP camera
Will the Samsung Galaxy S22 be a smartphone full of compromises? The South Korean company develops a lot of hardware, including some of the best camera sensors on the market. It seems that Samsung will not use this in the upcoming Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus. According to one source, “only” the recently introduced ISOCELL GN5 are used. With the ISOCELL GN1 and GN2, Samsung has two even larger sensors available.
The ISOCELL GN5 from Samsung in the Galaxy S22 would be an improvement over the Galaxy S21. But if Samsung had the ISOCELL GN1 or GN2 with an even larger physical sensor used, the difference would be even clearer. All sensors can use pixel binning to improve image quality. Four pixels are added together to form a larger pixel and the AI turns it into a better photo. But if the sensor itself is larger, the image automatically gets even better. The software can only help to a certain extent.
The zoom of the Galaxy S22, however, should improve significantly. Instead of relying on digital enlargement through the 64 MP sensor, Samsung wants one in the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus Build in optical 3x zoom. That would be a really big step.

Samsung only does the bare minimum
Samsung seems to be pursuing a strange strategy right now. The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus will be improved, but somehow they will do it only what is absolutely necessary to achieve this resultinstead of just giving everything. That is exactly what would be necessary now. The Galaxy S21 smartphones sold very poorly and the iPhone 13 has become even more dangerous.
