Overnight stay for two

You can imagine that romance and passion often lose out to the four of us falling asleep comfortably. High time to crown our eighteenth anniversary with a luxurious overnight stay for two. I already know the ultimate place to really get together. Where we can spend hours undisturbed in a king-size bed doing everything you should do in a bed; Plantation Rococo it’s gonna be. A romantic country house like in a costume movie, but with a hip twist.

Back in time

When we get home in our old Renault 4, I instinctively go back eighteen years, it feels like the first time I got into the car with my sweetheart with a belly full of butterflies, never to leave. Our first stop is a beach bar, where we enjoy oysters and bloody marys and the salty air of the sea.

At the Waterland Estate, four foals frolic through the meadow, buds open on the trees and shrubs, spring jitters float through the air, spring at its best. We enjoy a cheese board in the grass while the birds sing to us high in the trees. We talk, remain silent, enjoy, talk, laugh, remain silent.

A little later our dinner is ready in our beautiful suite. There’s a whole stack of vintage LPs, I put on Fleetwood Mac’s, light a candle. While we enjoy a delicious meal and wine, we look out over the meadow with the setting sun. The haste ebbs from my body, we have the time. We have time.

I feel like myself again, with my own identity, at the service of myself. We are husband and wife again, we see each other. I’m running the hot tub. We need to do this more often…
