Signal update welcomes you with stolen WhatsApp features

Signal welcomes you with an update that introduces a laundry list of ‘borrowed’ features you already know from WhatsApp.

While WhatsApp has been putting off the controversial new user condition, Signal is trying to get you transitioning with a new update. The chat service became extremely popular within a short time and wants to keep it that way. The update introduces a whole list of features that will be familiar to you. For example, the switch to Signal should become even easier for seasoned WhatsApp users.

Signal update brings WhatsApp features

Signal is releasing a lot of new features to the beta industry that WhatsApp users will recognize, WABetaInfo discovers. This way you can immediately change your background per conversation. Previously you could turn dark and light mode on or off in conversations, but now a unique wall paper is added for each individual conversation.

In addition, you can write a small ‘status update’ in Signal after the update. The witty sentence has been defining everyone on WhatsApp for years and that will soon also be possible in Signal.

Signal also introduces a sticker system where you can send animated pictures to people. Does that sound recognizable? You will soon be able to switch on low data mode during Signal calling, you can choose where the app stores media and the app makes it possible to generate shareable links for group calls. Previously, that was a maximum of 5 participants, but Signal increases it to 8. Just like – you guessed it – WhatsApp.

In short, the upcoming Signal update will introduce all kinds of features ‘borrowed’ from WhatsApp. For example, newcomers should feel more than welcome at the new, reportedly many times safer chat service. It is not yet known when Signal will release the ‘new’ features for all users.
