Several iCloud services are down (photos, contacts, etc.)
Apple announces that several services related to iCloud are currently experiencing an outage for several users. The group lists nine in total on its system status page.
Here’s every downed iCloud service according to Apple:
- iCloud Web Apps (iCloud.com)
- iCloud Calendar
- iCloud contacts
- iCloud Drive
- iCloud Mail
- iCloud storage upgrades
- Pictures
- iCloud Bookmarks and Tabs
- iCloud Keychain
Apple’s message is often “Some users are affected. This service may be slow or unavailable”. The group also says “Some users may experience an issue with this service” regarding iCloud storage upgrades”.
As always, Apple wants to be very discreet about the details. The company doesn’t say anything specific, just like it doesn’t say when there will be a return to normal. We only know that the outage started at 8:05 p.m. and that it is still ongoing.
If the services in question work for you, great. If this is not the case, then you have to wait for Apple to find the source of the problem and do what is necessary on its servers to correct the situation. It is not possible to say when everything will return to normal knowing that Apple does not communicate on the subject.
