The education startup Tomorrow’s Education has secured 1.1 million euros in capital and is launching its digital learning platform for part-time master’s courses.
Serial founder Christian Rebernik, known from N26, Parship or the health app Vivy, met with the education expert Dr. Thomas Funke teamed up and the Ed-Tech startup Tomorrow’s Education based in Berlin. This has now secured 1.1 million euros in a pre-seed financing round under the main investor Emerge Education for the expansion of a digital learning platform for young entrepreneurs.

Masters courses on the go
Tomorrow’s Education is currently setting up online master’s courses with 15 employees and aims to further qualify people who already have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree. The focus of the programs should be on short learning sequences in which the students are confronted with practice-oriented challenges that they can complete anywhere and anytime.
The aim is to create a learning environment that makes it easier to understand complex issues and implement them strategically. As it should be for a learning program today, it is primarily geared towards mobile use. Artificial intelligence is supposed to ensure that the learning environment automatically adapts itself more and more to the user the longer he uses it.
Master’s courses with accreditation
The first program will be a part-time Master’s degree in Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Technology (SET). It should open to applicants worldwide in April 2021 – just in time for the start of the summer semester. It is intended that the participants not only work on the program, but can also network with one another. It should then be possible to work collaboratively on projects.
The participants should be supported by a mentor and company network. A bachelor’s degree is required for the SET program. The online course is geared towards the needs of working people and will deal with the development of sustainable cities, climate change and the responsible use of resources. The learning platform cooperates with the Vienna University of Economics and Business in order to guarantee the accreditation of the program.
This is how Tomorrow’s Education differs from the online course
Series founder Christian Rebernik is particularly fascinated by the AI ​​aspect of the platform. This makes learning more personal and allows existing potential to develop, according to Rebernik. Its co-founder Dr. Thomas Funke is still familiar with the old-fashioned online courses and attaches particular importance to the fact that the Tomorrow’s Education courses will not have anything to do with them.
Rather, the teaching format is based on specific entrepreneurial challenges, is goal-oriented and dynamic. Through the combination of realistic examples and social learning, participants are given a comprehensive entrepreneurial mindset, not just the skills for a specific job.
