Sega announces a remake of Viruta Fighter 5 -apkrig

A few minutes ago, Sega surprised us with a surprising announcement – after fifteen long years, the Virtua Fighter series will come to life, which will return next Tuesday with a remake of the last big episode. The Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown will arrive exclusively on PlayStation 4 on June 1st, and fans have something to look forward to based on the first shots and screenshots. Under the baton of the original authors of the series from the Sega AM2 studio and experts from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, who have been focusing mainly on the Yakuza brand in recent years, Virtua Fighter 5 was re-created on Dragon Engine (powered by the latest Yakuza or Judgment). graphics and more advanced online features.

The return of the series is reported by the editors of IGN magazine, which followed up on previous speculations and hints of Sega and exclusively shared the trailer above and brings a handful of other details. In addition to graphics, the developers also reworked the background music of the individual arenas, provided a more modern user interface and prepared new introductory films before the matches. As mentioned above, they also focused on multiplayer, so that players will now be able to watch online matches, organize their own tournaments and logically participate in already launched competitions. There will also be a public lobby for up to 16 players, which will of course be supplemented by its own communication tools, whether to arrange a match or the obligatory trashtalk during it.

There is also the first set of pictures, which attracts well-known places and individual fighters, shown in quite attractive graphics. But at the moment we don’t have any more information about the resolution of the game, or the frequency of the frames, although we have no doubt about playing at least v 60 fps. However, it’s important to remember that the game will be released next Tuesday as an exclusive title for PlayStaton 4 – although undoubtedly playable in backward compatibility on PS5 as well – so we can expect some restrictions and releases on other platforms later. But neither IGN nor Sega are talking about a PC or Xbox release at the moment, which reinforces the feeling in gamers that today’s hints of a possible June game song for PS Plus subscribers were true.

As the Spanish portal Areajugones indicated a few hours ago, the current offer is to replace Star Wars: Squadrons, spy Operation Tango and Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown next week, which was not announced at the time of writing. Therefore, it can be assumed that either there was a bad timing of interdependent messages, or Sega only reacted quickly to the leak, but as a result, nothing significant changes. But the only thing left to answer is the circumstances surrounding the mentioned exclusivity, because fans do not seem to be exactly excited that they will not play the game other than on PlayStation, judging by the multiplatform approach of Sega in the several times mentioned Yakuza and previous episodes of Virtua. Fighter firmly believe in at least the Xbox…
