See friends’ posts and stories first
The Instagram algorithm ensures that you see certain content. However, if you want to replay posts and stories from individual users later, you must add the relevant people to Instagram Favorites. In “How to” we explain how to do this.
It’s something with algorithms and artificial intelligence. On the one hand, they learn what content we are interested in through sophisticated analysis techniques. They pay attention to which posts we look at, which accounts we keep visiting, and what we interact with.
As soon as Instagram thinks it knows what we like, only posts of a certain type appear in our feed. On the other hand, algorithms often forget that we are actually primarily interested in the content of our friends and family members – even if we don’t always look at the corresponding profiles.
Add Instagram favorites: It’s that easy
Luckily, Instagram gives us the ability to structure our feed. In other words: The almost 30 million users of the image and video platform in Germany are able to influence the algorithm according to their interests.
No technical know-how is required for this. Instead, there is an uncomplicated function: the so-called Instagram favorites. In today’s How To, we explain how to prioritize certain accounts on Instagram.
Step 1
In the first step you open for it the Instagram app on your smartphone.
step 2
Then you click on the accountsthat you want to add to your favorites on Instagram.
step 3
As soon as you have arrived at the profile, you click the button “followed” at.
step 4
Here you can not only mute or unfollow the account, but also “Add to favorites“ – one click is enough.
step 5
When you’ve done that, it lights up star next to the favorites in the color red-orange. You will also see the posts of this account as a priority.
