Samsung would develop a smartphone with the roll-up screen

The Asian company Samsung continues to innovate for its smartphones. According to patents unearthed and imaged by the Lets Go Digital site, a mobile prototype with a roll-up screen is in preparation.

In terms of innovation, the South Korean manufacturer is a leading figure in the mobile telephony market. Samsung was one of the first brands to bring foldable smartphones to market on a large scale. However, competition from Chinese companies is increasingly offensive. At the start of 2021, Oppo unveiled a roll-up screen phone prototype. In all likelihood, the South Korean-based company is working on the same product.

Samsung still has real know-how on the work of touch screens

If patents have been filed, this does not automatically mean that the smartphone in question will be marketed. The specialized site Lets Go Digital was able to locate the patent filed by Samsung with the United States Trademark Office. From this basis, a concept design was imagined for this potential telephone with the roll-up screen. According to the diagrams presented below, the product would take many technological elements already available on the Oppo X 2021. The screen would stretch in the direction of the width through buttons located on the edge.

The patent detailed by the site also gives more information on the potential technical sheet of the product. The back side would be fitted with a triple camera on the hull. A USB Type-C port would be located at the bottom of the phone. Once again, the touchscreen is the star of the prototype. A fingerprint sensor would be located below the interface and similarly a photo lens would exist under the slab. This patent shown in pictures confirms Samsung’s desire to make progress on the subject.

In the immediate news, the Asian manufacturer is already in preparation of innovative mobiles. Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 folding smartphones are expected by the general public. So much so that visuals are already appearing on social networks.
