But it can work without any external source and offers features that we are more used to with smart TVs.

When the agency offered us a test Samsung Smart Monitor M7, we read a little about it and asked ourselves what such a product is good at all. Why would you want to have something like a monitor smart feature? It covers only 73.9% of the DCI-P3 gamut and 71% of the Adobe RGB. At the same time, it is a VA type of display, which means that you can immediately forget about 10-bit colors. What do we mean by that? For graphic artists or photographers, this type of display is absolutely not suitable. However, the South Korean company does not even expect someone who needs color accuracy to buy this product. It’s the same with playing.

It is about 4K panel, and given how much the monitor costs, only a lunatic could expect to have a higher refresh rate than 60 Hz. Response time that makes 8 ms however, it could be slightly lower and the brightness slightly higher. On the other hand, the image is smooth, even in situations where you have it on your desk and use it as a classic monitor. You can play on it. It’s just a question of what your demands are. If you play competitive online shooters, it is clear that such a product will be nothing for you. But if you have a game console and you’re resting on single-player titles, the monitor won’t limit you in any way.

Smart TV? No, this is a monitor

As mentioned in the introduction, the main weapon of the Samsung Smart Monitor M7 is its versatility. The system is running on it Tizen so you can count on all the clever features you’re used to on TV. Of course, there is also support for Samsung DeX, which can replace your computer with a keyboard and mouse in the event of basic office work.

Of course, you can get a number of applications on Tizen, such as Netflix, HBO Go, O2 TV (which works poorly, which is not Samsung’s fault), Telly, Plex, Apple TV Plus, YouTube or Spotify, thanks to which you can do exactly what you are doing. you want. There is also the ability to work with the cloud via Office 365.

Price and availability

Samsung Smart Monitor M7 32 ″ is available at most Czech e-shops for a price CZK 8,990. However, you can get a little cheaper in the event, and in addition, the successor to the Samsung Smart Monitor M8 was introduced at CES 2022. So you can wait a while for the monitor to be in action or get a newer model straight away.

Why Buy the Samsung M7 Smart Monitor?

At the beginning, we asked ourselves what such a product is good for. That’s why we borrowed it in the end. So after we returned the monitor, we were able to answer the question, why buy a Samsung M7 Smart Monitor? Probably yes. Thanks to its size, it is a device on which you can comfortably handle all office work, either via Samsung DeX or via a laptop, which you can also conveniently charge directly from the monitor.

If you want to play Netflix in the evening or play a game that is not important every millisecond, this monitor will serve very well. We can imagine a situation where such a product replaces the television and computer in the student room at the same time, and this product is created just for users who appreciate these features.
