Samsung presents the Galaxy S21 FE 5G
The Galaxy S21 FE 5G has been in the rumor mill for almost a year and finally made its debut at CES 2022. The fourth member of the Galaxy S21 series is supposed to combine the most popular functions of the Galaxy S21 series in one smartphone.
The S21 FE has a 6.4 inch full HD + display with a refresh rate of 120 Hertz and a sampling rate of 240 Hertz. AMOLED technology should display colors and black levels naturally. In the middle of the display sits a front camera with a resolution of 32 megapixels.
Inside the smartphone sits the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G from 2020, which was used in the US in the S21 series, while in Europe the Exynos 2100 was used. The smartphone is available in two versions, one with 128 gigabytes of internal memory and 6 gigabytes of RAM, and a version with 256 gigabytes of internal memory with 8 gigabytes of RAM.
The fingerprint sensor sits under the display, and a (rather unsecure) unlocking of the device with a face is also possible. Payments can be made via Google or Samsung Pay using the built-in NFC. The device is protected against dust and water by IP68 certification.
There are three camera sensors on the back of the device, the main camera has a resolution of 12 megapixels. There is also an ultra-wide-angle camera with 12 megapixel resolution, which gets more content on the picture thanks to its 123 ° field of view. The third lens is a telephoto camera with 8 megapixels, through which a maximum zoom of 30x is possible.
The battery is rated at 4500 mAh and charges via USB-C with a maximum of 25 watts. 15 watts are possible via wireless QI charging. The device also supports “Wireless PowerShare” which allows other smartphones or devices (such as wireless headphones) to be charged on the back of the device.
Samsung’s OneUI 4.0, based on Google’s Android 12 pre-installed, is used as software, the company promises at least 3 more Android updates (so the device will get at least Android 15).
The Galaxy S21 FE 5G will be officially available in stores from January 11, 2022, the basic version costs 749 euros, for the version with more memory and RAM you pay 819 euros. The colors “Graphite”, “Olive”, “Lavender” and “White” are available.
