Samsung lowers update policy for Galaxy A20e and Galaxy A70

Samsung has made changes to the update policy for some devices. It concerns changes in the updates for the Galaxy A70 and the Galaxy A20e. Both devices can count on updates less often.

Less frequent updates for Galaxy A20e and Galaxy A70

In Samsung’s update overview, the manufacturer has made changes to the cycle in which updates appear. This concerns a total of two models for which the frequency of updates is adjusted. Both the Samsung Galaxy A20e and the Galaxy A70, which were released in May 2019, will no longer receive a quarterly security update.

Instead, the two smartphones will from now on receive an update to a new security patch once every six months. Interestingly, the Galaxy A40 released month earlier continues to receive an update every quarter; presumably because this smartphone was a lot more popular with the public.

For the Galaxy A20e owners, it is also a matter of waiting for another major update. This smartphone can expect an update to Android 11 in the coming weeks.
