Samsung is testing 65 W charging. Models from the Galaxy S22 series will receive it

Samsung does not offer extra powerful charging in its current TOP models. The maximum is currently 25 W. However, the manufacturer has worked on the optimization, so the models from the Galaxy S21 family charge relatively quickly.

In the past, we had the opportunity to see 45 W charging, in the case of the Galaxy Note 10+ model. However, a charging adapter with such power was not included in the package. According to the GSMAren portal, the manufacturer is now testing a new, faster charge with a power of 65 W.

This should be available for upcoming Galaxy S22 models. These should come early next year. We are not hearing for the first time that Samsung plans to increase charging power. The information has appeared since the beginning of this year.

The charger is already certified

In February, the Korean manufacturer had a charger certified, which has 20 V and 3.25 A, which gives the mentioned power of 65 W. However, the question remains whether Samsung decides to pack the charger in a sales package.

As you know, the packaging of this year’s flagship models does not include charging adapters, they only contain a double-sided USB-C cable.

With this performance, the new Samsungs could charge from 0 to 100% in about half an hour. At the moment it takes a little over an hour. For comparison, we charged the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ in our editorial test in 59 minutes using a 45 W charger.

Of the devices we have tested so far, the models from OnePlus are the best. OnePlus 9 Pro charged in 29 minutes. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro also achieved a very good time, which takes 44 minutes. You can see the complete table of charging speeds here.
