Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3: complete specification list has leaked

Prior to the Samsung Unpacked event on August 11, the ‘water pipe’ has finally been broken this time. Part of the leak is the specification list of the Z Flip 3. This list almost certainly confirms previous rumors about Samsung’s cheapest folding Galaxy Z Flip phone.

The annual rumor frenzy surrounding the Unpacked events appears to have reached a new high on Friday. All the details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 have come out through the reliable rumor makers of WinFuture. The parsing of the Z Flip 3 starts with the folding Dynamic AMOLED screen, which has a 6.7-inch diagonal, a Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. According to Samsung, this screen should last up to five years. This applies to users who open their phone 100 times a day.

Like the original Galaxy Z Flip, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 has two screens. For the second screen, we need to be on the outside of the phone. The panel has a 1.9-inch diagonal, with a 260 x 512 pixels resolution. This screen shows notifications and other important information, among other things. This leaves the panel behind on the cover screen of the Motorola Razr, which can be used as a regular phone. Samsung links the chipset to 8 GB working and 128 GB or 256 GB storage memory. . For power supply, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 contains a 3,300 mAh battery, the same battery capacity as on the original Z Flip. The relatively slow charging speed is striking: it was previously found that fast charging can be done with a maximum of 15 watts.

‘Only two cameras’

For camera enthusiasts, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is not the first device that comes to mind. According to details in the hands of WinFuture, the phone will only have two 12 MP cameras on the back: a 12 MP main camera, combined with a 12 MP wide-angle camera. On the front of the phone we find a single 10 MP selfie camera.

Other details that have leaked about the Z Flip 3 are about its connectivity options. As can be expected from a high-end phone in 2021, the phone includes 4G and 5G support. Remarkably enough, for WiFi connections, the Z Flip 3 does not support WiFi 6. According to the website, support runs up to WiFi AC (Wi-Fi 5). Finally, it is known that the fingerprint scanner of the Z Flip 3 is in the power button, and that the phone will receive an IPX8 rating. This makes the phone, as the first foldable device, water resistant.

Launch on August 11

The Z Flip 3 does not seem to bring many major innovations. This seems to have made it possible for Samsung to cut the price of the foldable phone. With a suggested retail price of 1,099 euros, it is certainly not a cheap phone, but it is starting to become available.
