Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will have a huge 14.6-inch screen
After years of stagnation in the tablet market, Apple brought movement to the segment with the iPad Pro – a tablet for professionals. Samsung tried to emulate the concept of the iPad with its Tab S7 and Tab S7 Plus. With the upcoming Tab S8 series, Samsung wants to go one step further, by offering a huge Ultra Android tablet for professionals.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra
The range of Android tablets is currently dominated by Samsung and within the high-end segment, the South Korean manufacturer is even the only Android player. Samsung does not seem to be yielding to pressure from Apple, the main competitor for the Korean manufacturer’s tablet division, for the time being. In order to remain relevant within the tablet segment, Samsung is investigating all possible tablet variants for the Tab S8 series, according to various messages on the Korean Naver. The survey respondents were even shown specifications of the upcoming tablet series.
An image from Samsung’s research shows the three different tablets, with sizes ranging from 11-inch to 12.4-inch and even 14.6-inch for the largest Galaxy Tab S8 tablet. According to research data, the smallest variant of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 series will have a TFT screen, while the company has reserved an AMOLED screen for the larger 12.4 and 14.6-inch tablets. All tablets in this study have a 120 Hz refresh rate.
12,000 mAh battery
From the image it can also be read that the 11-inch tablet will have an 8,000 mAh battery, while the 12.4-inch variant moves up to a 10,090 mAh capacity. The 14.6-inch variant takes that a step further, with a capacity of 12,000 mAh. Charging is done in all cases, according to the specification list, with 45 watts. It is not mentioned whether Samsung provides a charger.
In terms of cameras, the Galaxy Tab S8 series is probably not a high flyer. Samsung would provide the 11-inch and 12.4-inch variants of the Tab S8 series with an 8 MP selfie camera. On the S8 Ultra, this is complemented by a 5MP wide-angle camera. Camera sensors on the back of these tablets have a 13 MP and 5 MP resolution; the function of the 5 MP sensor is unknown.
Prices Galaxy Tab S8 Series
Samsung has mentioned possible prices for its upcoming Android tablets in the research. In the case of the 11-inch tablet, which may be sold as the Galaxy Tab S8, the South Korean company speaks of a suggested retail price of KRW 829,000, converted about 610 euros. If you buy Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 Plus, the prices will rise to 850 euros (KRW 1,149,000), while the Tab S8 Ultra must cost at least 1,100 euros (KRW 1,469,000). This applies to the base models with WiFi support, LTE and 5G models will also be available.
Storage configurations are similar for the different connectivity options. For Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8 Plus, Samsung mentions configurations with 8 GB ram and 128 GB or 256 GB storage memory. Samsung’s possible top model, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, will have 512 GB storage memory and 12 GB working memory, regardless of the connectivity choice.
For now, this is only research data. It is therefore not yet certain that Samsung will actually market these tablets as the Galaxy Tab S8 series. In addition, Samsung could use the research to refine the specifications before the tablets go into production. When that will happen and when Samsung will release its new Galaxy Tab S8 tablets is still unknown. What do you expect from Samsung’s Tab S8 series? Let us know in the comments below this article.
