Samsung Galaxy S21 vs Xiaomi Mi 11 – New flagship killer
The Samsung Galaxy S21 and Xiaomi Mi 11 both have a Snapdragon 888, but that’s where the similarities end. There is a new flagship killer.
In our previous comparisons with the Samsung Galaxy S21, the smartphone always had one advantage. The brand new processor, outside Europe a Snapdragon 888, within Europe the Exynos 2100. There are hardly any devices that have the new chipset. To make it a bit fairer this time, we compare the Galaxy S21 with the Xiaomi Mi 11, which (as it was announced today) is officially coming to the Benelux.
Samsung Galaxy S21 vs Xiaomi Mi 11
For the first time in our Galaxy S21 comparisons, we have two devices with the Snapdragon 888 (or its slightly worse equivalent). However, that is where the similarities end.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 is actually better in every way or just as goes as the Samsung Galaxy S21. The former has a larger, sharper (curved) screen. It has the same amount of RAM and storage space but a 12GB option as a high-end alternative.
Xiaomi supplies the Mi 11 with a 108MP camera setup and a twice as sharp selfie camera. And as the icing on the cake, Xiaomi dominates Samsung when it comes to battery specs. The battery is 600mAh bigger (although the larger screen also draws more juice), it charges with more than twice as much watts and can charge more than three times as fast wirelessly.
All that is well and good, but it is usually the price that can be decisive. Although all specs have been officially announced by Xioami, the price is not yet. Conversely, if we convert the Chinese price, we arrive at the price below. Even if Xiaomi decides to ask more for the Mi 11 in Europe than in the home country, there is still a margin of more than € 300 between the two devices.
In short, it must go very crazy for the Xiaomi Mi 11 to not deliver the better price / specs ratio compared to the Samsung Galaxy S21.
