Samsung Galaxy S21 update fixes problems with low battery life

A new update for the Samsung Galaxy S21 should solve problems with the battery life of the flagship. The update is now being rolled out.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 deals with a problem with battery life. Since the security patch of February, the phone has lost its battery capacity too quickly. A new update with the version number G99xBXXU1AUB6 should address this problem, Sammobile knows that. According to the first reactions of users, that has also been successful.

This battery problem did not occur to every user and it only occurred with the small S21. It was striking that the problem with the phone continued to arise even if you took measures that normally benefit the battery life. Some users went so far as to keep using the phone in airplane mode, and even in that disconnected mode, the battery continued to drain. So it was clear that it was a software issue and Samsung has now addressed it.

Moderate battery life

In our extensive review of the Samsung Galaxy S21 you can read that the smartphone also has a very poor battery life in our experiences. Our test device was not about the software error that we discuss in this article, because it only occurred later when the February software update was rolled out. In our review you can read that after a normal day of use, the battery of the phone was usually empty at 6:00 PM. Switching off the always-on screen made no significant difference. If you care a lot about the battery life, you better look towards the Plus and Ultra variant.

Samsung is now rolling out the latest update for the S21. It should appear in your phone’s notifications, but you can of course also manually search for the update.
